quick quilted pillow
I decided to make two blocks for my Virtual Quilting Bee and I used the second block to make a cute little pillow of little relish's reading chair. We spend a lot of time in this chair and thought it needed a new pillow. The fabrics in the square are Gypsy by Lily Ashbury for Moda and the boarder is a fun fabric I found at Hobby Lobby that has a metallic overlay. I used a metallic thread to quilt the top. It is an envelope style pillow so I can take it off and wash when needed.
Finished block size is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and boarder is 4 1/2 inches wide. Ikea sells small pillows for $3.99 each that are great for covering with homemade envelope style pillows. I should have made my cover a tad bit bigger...this one is stuffed tight!
...shinny huh?!
Thanks for stopping by!

PS - Here is a great tutorial on how to do an envelope back pillow over at Reanna Lily Designs. I was too lazy to put binding on mine. Don't judge.
