summertime dresses...

So, it's getting hot here in Texas and I've been on a dress kick this week. I should be writing all the thank yous from baby relish's birthday, but really felt this was more important. I also am part of a group in Facebook that is ALL about PDF patterns and it's really interfering with my ability to do anything but think of cute dresses to make or patterns to buy. So here is what I have to show for it....

Dress #1 - Party Dress

I made this dress for little relish's end of year program next week. She picked the fabric (I gave her three options I was ok with) and went from there. She is on a huge butterfly kick and even though you can barely see the little butterflies, she thinks it's perfect!

Pattern - Tie Dye Diva's Perfect Party Dress - there are several different options such as a bib or ruffle at the bottom. I opted with the cute flower broach. She has instructions in the pdf pattern but also has a tutorial on her blog on how to make these cute flowers. I highly recommend any of her patterns. They are awesome! She lists one pattern a week for 1/2 off so be sure to like her on Facebook or follow her blog.
Fabric - Hobby Lobby (main) and the pink sash was from my stash so not sure.

Next up...

Dress #2 and 3 -

This dress was fun to make and super easy! These two are for baby relish. I also made one for little relish (see below). I did the pocket that comes with the pattern on the blue/mustard set, but decided to do a cute butterfly applique on the other.

Pattern - SIG Delany Top . This pattern designer also makes dresses to sell so check her out.
Tutorial for diaper cover can be found here.
Fabrics - Pink set included some Michael Miller fabrics and the blue/mustard set is from Hobby Lobby.

I also made these shorts (pic not mine) but they were waaaaaay too big for little relish. She's almost 3 but wears size 5T in shorts. She also has a super high "plumber's crack" (poor thing) so that is another issue. So I decided to make size 6 and guess what? Her plumber's crack still shined through because they fell down. Oh well! But aren't they stinkin' cute? I will try again this week.

Here is her blog, Brownie Goose. All her patterns are to die for! Her sense of humor is great too...I laughed out loud several times while reading her pattern's instructions. Such a hoot!

Lastly, there was a ladybug release event in our neighborhood this weekend and took the girls to catch some! They also sported their new dresses. It was kind of funny getting them dressed before we left. I was getting little relish dressed first when baby relish realized that her sister was getting to wear the new dress I made. She had seen hers sitting there and did a full on baby tantrum until I put hers on and then she was happy as a clam again. So funny to see how she reacts now when she thinks she might be getting slighted. She had tried the dress on a few days ago to check sizing and I think she knew it was hers. That makes me happy!

Anyways, back to the ladybugs....

- We actually won the ladybug kite by checking-in at the event! We never win and boy were we stoked! We left there feeling pretty proud of ourselves...Mr. Relish and me of course. Haha!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I inspired some of y'all to make some summer dresses or at least try out a few pdf patterns.

Melissa
