why I smell so good....

Hey Y'all!

It's Thursday and although I've been chugging away with the rotary cutter, sewing machine, AND iron...I have nothing finished to share. I felt like I had a lot of fabric (collections mostly) that had been sitting idle for too long, those including Piper from Dear Stella, Lush Uptown, and Nordika. So ALL three have been chopped and stitched and I am working on piecing the 3rd quilt top. I felt that I couldn't respectfully purchase any more fabric bundles until I worked through several of mine and mission accomplished. Does anyone else do this?

Here is a sneak peek of my Nordika that I pressed on during nap time watching Breaking Bad on Netflix.

Workin...

Loving my new scent of Best Press, Cherry Blossom. I might have "accidently" sprayed my shirt just so I could let the smell linger...on me. Don't judge.

Oh, and I got me some happy free mail the other day from the sparkling Joshua, AKA Molli, over at Molli Sparkles via Intrepid Thread. I won 1/2 yard for making 18 blocks but since he is such a doll (and quilting rock star) he bumped me up to the 20 block category! Here is what I picked and I just can't wait to fussy cut these into something fun!

Fabric love...

Thanks so much, Molli Sparkles, for making my week so awesome!

And lastly, while perusing Facebook just a bit ago, Fat Quarter Shop posted a 50% off sale on Lush Uptown fabrics. And I recently won a $50 gift card for linking up my Zakka 2.0 projects. And I need backing for my Lush Uptown quilt. Serendipity? Checkout code UPTOWN! There isn't much yardage left but I love the pebbles. Maybe it can work for both the Lush Uptown and Nordika quilts. Hmmmmm...

Thanks for visiting and hope to share something finished soon!

  1. All that hard work may not look like much to you, but it sure looks yummy, to me, Melissa. Cute idea using starch for cologne. You may have inhaled too much! Oh, and Yippee! That fabric stack is gorgeous! Nice picks, you lucky girl!

    1. Thanks Lorna! I'm always jealous of people who get to use scented laundry soap since I'm veeeeery allergic. So, now I can just spray the outside. Haha...showed them! Thanks for visiting, my dear!! Can't wait to share my goodies!!

    1. Thanks Margaret! I was very lucky! It always seems to come in 2s or 3s so It will probably be awhile before I win again. I think I might have a busy week ahead with lots of basting and quilting. SO glad I bought a roll of batting recently! Have a great weekend!

  3. It looks like you are accomplishing a lot. It's always a good feeling to get so much done. I love the smell of the cherry blossom one. Although my dad and brothers were not so fond of it when I used it to press their white shirts for a funeral. I think I found the best way not to have to iron shirts for the family!
