Mother's Day Quilt Finish!

Well, big relish is home sick from preschool today, but she has been the perfect patient and let me get some work done around the house, including taking pictures of my latest quilt!

I even got to take my quilt outside and let my new (temporary neighbors) meet the crazy-quilt-lady-who-is-getting-poked-by-the-holly-bush-just-to-get-a-quilt-picture. I then cut some roses from the bushes next to our patio and got poked again. All for the love of good quilt pictures!

Ok, back to the quilt. I recently got my hands on the book, Strip Savvy, and saying I love it is an understatement. Seriously, I LOVE IT! The premise of the book is to use jelly rolls (I know, not a new book concept), but this book has such beautiful quilt patterns and fantastic fabric choices. Kate Henderson made me fall in love with Jelly Rolls again! I chose V and Co.'s new Color Me Happy and love how, well, happy it came out. I got mine at Urban Spools.

I was boring and just did diagonal lines following the pattern on the quilt. I am giving this one to my mom for mother's day. Hope she loves it!

Oh, and this is my new little table I got for a steal at my local antique mall. I love it! I am slowly buying things here and there for the new house. We will once again have a guest room at the new house and this precious little table will go in there.

Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend!

  1. Hi Melissa....LOVE the quilt and I just went to Amazon to read the reviews of Strip Savvy and gosh darn it....I think I now need this book. I have been trying SO hard not to ever buy another quilt book, but the patterns in this book look amazing. I have listed some new quilts on my Etsy shop, go check out what I have been working on! Your mom is very lucky to be getting such a pretty quilt for her special day.

  7. I love your quilt. It really is beautiful and I'm sure your mum is going to be over the moon with it. Thanks for the book recommendation too, it looks wonderful so I've already put a copy on my kindle. I've a good stash of jelly rolls so this looks like just the inspiration I need to get me stitching with a few of them.
